Oce Adelle (nee Randles) Jones

October 18, 1933 – April 13, 2020
Oce Adelle Jones (nee Randles) died peacefully of natural causes on Easter Monday, April 13, 2020. She was a long-time resident of Central Alberta. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers; one granddaughter; and her husband Max of 57 years.
Oce was born in Radville, Saskatchewan, to Neil and Beatrice Randles, on October 18, 1933, the third of five children. Her family moved to Alberta in the fall of 1946; they settled and farmed in the Mecca Glen area east of Ponoka.
In 1960 she married Max Jones; they farmed in the Morningside area until their move to Clive in 1964 where they lived until Max’s death in 2017. Her daughters Sandra and Kathleen were a deep joy and love to her. Helen and Greg joined the family in 1970 and were received into her circle of love.
Oce and Max were proud and involved community members of the Clive farming area. Oce was an active member of the Clive Baptist Church and in later years, attended St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lacombe. She, with husband Max, welcomed people new to the community; their door and hearts were always open to welcome company and impromptu guests to their home.
As their health declined, Oce and Max were able to live on the farm longer because of the care of their younger daughter Kathleen and husband, Sonny, who lived 4 miles down the road. After Max’s death in 2017, they took Oce under their wing for a year until her move to Harmony Care Home in Red Deer, AB in September 2018.
Oce was truly blessed with the exceptional care given to her from Andrea and each of the Harmony staff members. They treated Oce with kindness, love, and attentive care. Oce’s family are all sincerely grateful for Harmony Care Home. Thanks also to Dr. Nadine Chatel, Lacombe Home Care, and Bremner Community Care Centre.
Oce deeply loved each and every one of her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and godchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends, church families, neighbours, and parishioners; her sister, brother-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Oce, in her mission on earth, has changed the lives of countless people. May they all pass it on. We are all better for knowing and loving her. If you had the gift of knowing Oce, know this: she has prayed for you.
A Memorial Service, or a Celebration of Life, will be held at a later date when the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Stephen’s Parish in Lacombe, Clive Baptist Church in Clive, or Harmony Care Home in Red Deer.
