Bud Beach, born on August 23, 1936 in Ponoka, Alberta passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on Oct. 31, 2020 at the age of 84.
Bud was raised in the Elkhorn district where he attended the Elkhorn school.
He helped his parents on the farm until he went up North to drive water truck. He also drove milk truck and had various other trucking jobs up until he joined his brother Roy in the taxi business, Royal Taxi.
When Roy retired, Bud partnered with A&B Taxi, owned by Lynda Potter. Their partnership grew into a relationship and they were married in 1994. After the business was sold in 1996 he drove school bus for Hobbema Transport until he retired.
In his retirement, Bud enjoyed camping with his family and as an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching various sports but loved his baseball the most and rarely missed a game.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lynda Beach; step- children, Stacey (Mark) Jones, Chris Clandfield, Lesley (Steve) Rausch and grandchildren, Evan (Candice) Jones, Heather (Landon) Friesen, Kirsten (Jason) Hoeve and Kyle Rausch (Ashley), Joel Rausch (Erin), Hailey (Joe) Hinton and Zachary Rausch. Six great grandchildren, his brother Jim Beach and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mollie-Anna Beach; brothers, John, Roy, and Bill Beach; sisters, Mary McCarter, Vera Mayer, Beth Yon, Helen Cameron, Doris Harness and his brother and sister- in-laws.
Thank you to Ponoka Home Care, FCSS, Dr. Halse and the staff at the PHCC who cared for and allowed him to remain at home as long as possible in his last days.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
