Richard Craddock “Dick” as his friends knew him, passed away on October 23, 2010, at the age of 73.

Dick, the burly kid from Devon, AB had a success story that was all his own. He was a big, rugged kid who almost made the British Empire Games swim team in 1954, and who held a couple of provincial swim records. Then in 1954 Huskies coach Murray Smith discovered him in Devon, he didn’t have the benefit of high school football and he never played until he joined the Huskies as their offensive centre. Dick went on to play for the Edmonton Eskimos in 1958, 1959 & 1960. He had a long career with Imperial Oil, and retired at 55 so that he and his wife Joyce could live their dream- sailing the BC coast.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 1:00PM at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A Lacombe, AB
