Robert Spencer Richardson passed away in Calgary, Alberta on March 29, 2009 after a brief illness. He was born in Calgary on November 20, 1926 the youngest son of Herbert and Susan Richardson. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret and brothers Kemp and John. Bob grew up in Calgary. As a youth he was always involved in sports playing football, basketball and golf. His passion for golf continued throughout his life. He married Patty Pogue on July 11, 1950. They had three children, Susan, John and Shaye. Bob was a bank manager with the CIBC in Nanton, Stoney Plain, Manning, Claresholm and Grimshaw followed by the Alberta Treasury Branch in Peace River and Calgary. He then served as Director of Credit and Chief Inspector in Edmonton and Ponoka. He married Alma Johnson on November 20, 1963. When the Inspection Branch moved to Ponoka in 1977, Bob and his wife Alma moved there and made many friends. When Bob retired in 1987, they chose to stay in Ponoka. Bob spent many more enjoyable years golfing at the Ponoka Golf Club and playing bridge at the Ponoka Drop In Centre.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife Alma; daughter Susan (Wilf) Gour, son John Richardson; daughter Shaye Richardson (Norman Van Rassel), step-daughter Kay Cram (Ron Lavergne) and step-son Ted (Sylvia) Johnson; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Service of Remembrance was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Melbourne officiating. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the charity of the donor’s choice.
