Rick Van Alstyne, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 12, 2017. Rick was born May 6, 1956 in Cereal, Alberta and spent his early years on the family farm. He moved on to achieve great skill in custom automotive upholstery; win-ning many coveted awards and trophies in the industry. Rick loved to share his quick wit and a joke with those who stopped by his shop. Rick was predeceased by his parents Fred and Shirley, and several other family members. He will be missed by a large family including his daughters Kiersten (Joseph) and Dani (Kolten) and their mother Sheila; his best friend and partner Inger; and his siblings Judy (Art), Jim (Laura), Elaine (Mike) and Ormond; as well as many nieces and nephews of several generations. A Funeral Service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 with the Interment Service following at the Alto Reste Cemetery in Red Deer.
