It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Rose Sharon Elizabeth Heikkinen, on Monday, October 21, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 75 years.
In the early 2000's Rose and her mother left the hustle and bustle of Calgary and headed north to Ponoka for a slower pace of life. Rose worked for the Ponoka Hospital in the food services department until retiring.
As a born again Christian she looked forward to getting dressed up and attending church every Sunday. Rose enjoyed driving in the country and marveled at how pretty nature was. She loved Christmas and could decorate a tree and wrap a present that was magazine worthy. If you knew Rose, you knew how much of a knack she had for organizing. She was in heaven sorting, organizing and using a label maker.
After retiring she found immense joy in jig-saw puzzles and could work at them for days on end. Now that her battle with dementia is over, she can finally be at peace. Love you Mom.
