Ruth Schurman
Ruth was born in Lougheed, Alberta on July 11, 1920 and passed away January 7, 2010 at Northcott Care Centre in Ponoka. Ruth moved to Ponoka in 1947 with her husband Ray and resided there until her passing, with the exception of two years that she lived in Parkland Manor in Rimbey, before returning to Ponoka, Northcott Care Centre. Left to cherish her memory is her only daughter Linda (Frank) Thomaser of Ponoka as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ray in 2006; her parents; four brothers and six sisters. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home (5115 - 50th Avenue) at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12 with the Interment Service following at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northcott Care Centre, 4209 - 48th Avenue, Ponoka, AB T4J 1P4 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
