Shane Dennis Beach

August 20, 1965- October 5, 2009

It is with sadness and relief that the family of Shane announce his passing. Shane was a longtime resident of Ponoka and was well known for his catering and chef skills. Shane’s love of cooking began at the age of 14 years and at the age of 17 owned his own business known as "Chefmaster ". In 1988 Shane met Cindy and the two were wed in 1990. Shane and Cindy welcomed two daughters to the family, Chantelle and Michelle and they were his pride and joy. After the arrival of his daughters, Shane cut back on his catering and spent more time with his family.

Shane was employed with The Ponoka General Hospital for approximately 10 years before venturing out as a camp cook. Shane worked at many functions and the last 15 years of his life Shane was a highly regarded camp chef and kitchen manager where he ran camps of up to 500 people.

Shane loved to travel, was an avid water skier and loved airplanes, but his heart was always in the kitchen.

Shane fought a courageous battle with cancer and on October 5 2009 he could fight no more.

Shane leaves to mourn his wife Cindy, daughters Chantelle and Michelle and his mother Gladys Beach all of Ponoka, and Ernie Loiselle, his uncle and special friend also of Ponoka. Shane also leaves to mourn his passing a number of extended family, colleagues and friends.
