Espetveidt, Signe Bak passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Thursday March 12, 2009 at the age of 86 years.

Signe was born in SKJOLBAK, Denmark on September 8, 1922. She moved to Canada with her parents and siblings when she was four years old.

In 1996, together with her husband Joe, they made the move from Wetaskwin, AB to Sorrento, BC, where they spent many happy years living in the Shuswap.

Signe had a love for life. Gardening, people, and travelling were her passions. She would always reminisce with her children and grand-children about the many travels that she had been on, and these stories would spark laughter and happy memories.

Signe was predeceased by her first husband Howard Dickau, her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her husband Joseph Espetveidt of Salmon Arm, BC, previously of Sorrento BC; her children, Ken(Joy) Dickau of Ponoka, AB, Esther(Wayne) Plester of Rimbey, AB; step-children Carol(Jim) Dowding of Sorrento, BC, Ria(Al) of Boyle, AB, Brenda(Rod) of Slave Lake, AB, Ray(Marilyn) Espetveidt of Peace River, BC, Wade Espetveidt, of Sorrento, BC, Dale(Sharla) of Peace River, AB; brother Vagn(Marie) Nielson of Ladner, BC; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 from the Bowker Funeral Home Chapel, Ponoka, AB at 2:00 p.m., with Jack Bowers as Celebrant. Interment will follow from the community Cemetery.
