Stan Baliant
On April 16, 2012 Mr. Stanley Michael Baliant of Ponoka passed away suddenly at the age of 61 years. Stan will be lovingly remembered by his wife Irene; daughters Jennifer Baliant and Michelle (James) Reed; grandchildren Colby and Alanna Reed; brother Tony Baliant; nieces Shelley (Rob) Henn and family and Sheila (Jim) Martin and family; as well as many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends. Stan was predeceased by his parents Peter (July 1964) and Anne (December 1996) Baliant; sister Stella Maksimchuk (July 2000); brother-in-law Bill Maksimchuk (July 2002); and many aunts and uncles. Stan was an active member of the Ponoka Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, golfing and curling. Stan was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help with anything. Stan worked for the Town of Ponoka from 2000 until February 6, 2012. A Prayer Service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 and a Funeral Service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Ponoka at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. The Interment Service followed at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
