In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that the family of Terry (Taras) Eugene Kalynka announce his passing on May 11, 2023, at the age of 72 years at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury in Ponoka, Alberta. Terry was born on February 20, 1951, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
He attended a country school, Kiev, and then Alvena School. Terry enjoyed farming and fishing, with his dad, until his passing. He also farmed with his brother Ernie and family for twenty-six years. His love of John Deere farm machinery included many hats and jackets.
His favourite pet dogs were Buck and Lucky. Terry would see his Uncle Andrew Kalynka quire often and enjoyed visiting his many friends and neighbours. He especially enjoyed family visits where he would get to play with his nieces and nephews. "Deuce Is Wild" and "Kaiser" were his favourite card games.
Later he moved to Cudworth and worked at Columbia Industries. Terry then moved to Alberta and spent most of his time between Camrose and Ponoka.
Terry will be lovingly remembered by his brother Ernie (Carrie) Kalynka of Wakaw, Saskatchewan; his sister Iris Meehan of Invermere, British Columbia; brother-in-law Ted Rothery of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Eileen Kalynka of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Dmytro and Jennie Kalynka and his siblings Ron Kalynka and Natalie Rothery.
Many thanks to the Catholic Services Group Home in Camrose and to the staff at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury in Ponoka for Terry's care in his later years. To express condolences to Terry's family, please visit womboldfuneralhomes.com
