Tillie Liske passed away March 7th, 2009 in Victoria B.C. with her daughters Donna and Janice at her side.

Tillie was born in Poland in 1927. At the age of six years old she immigrated to Canada with her parents David and Emily Bartel plus (sisters) Alice, Agnes, Annie,(brothers) Adolf, Leonard, Richard, Henry, Sigmund, and Jerry.

The family settled in the Onaway district where they farmed for many years.

In 1949 she married Gary (Liske). They bought a farm near Fort Saskatchewan Alberta. In 1962 they purchased a farm in the Mecca Glen area. In 1969 they sold the farm and moved into Ponoka. Tillie worked as an Institutional Aid for about 25 years at the Alberta Hospital Ponoka. She was known for her kind and gentle manner with all patients and staff. Tillie also owned and operated Royal View Gardens for a number of years raising bedding plants, and beautiful flowers of all varieties.

In 1987 Tillie retired from AHP, and spent her time looking after and enjoying their acreage. She frequently received first prize for her gardens/flowers and intricate crochet projects at the county fair. They spent many fun filled winters in Arizona, and later wintered in Victoria.

Tillie was a friend to so many, and beloved Mother/Wife/Sister and Grandmother to her family.

She moved to Victoria with her daughters Donna and Janice after Gary's passing in 2005.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter Janice (Terry) grandchildren Nicki and Kristine, daughter Donna (Mark) grandchildren Natassia, Erica, and Dayne.

She was prececeased by her son Dennis Gary in 1976, and husband Gary in 2005.

Memorial Service to be held Monday March 16th at 2:00 P.M. at the Ponoka First Baptist Church.
