Willi Feldberg
On June 17, 2011 Mr. Wilhelm "Willi" Feldberg of Ponoka passed away at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 91 years. Willi was born March 24, 1920 in Kurmahlen, Goldigen, Latvia the youngest son of Edward and Sophia Feldberg. Willi enlisted in the Army on December 11, 1940 and was discharged on December 1, 1945. In 1948 Willi immigrated to Canada returning to Germany in 1960. Willi married Hilde Schmidt on February 16, 1962 and returned to Canada where they purchased a farm in the Usona District. Willi retired from farming in 1985. Willi is survived by his wife Hilde; sons Rolf (Kari) Feldberg and Bernd (Carla) Feldberg; and grandchildren Justin, Brittney, Shayla, Jordan, Jessica and Ceanna. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ponoka at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 with the Interment Service following at the Forest Home Cemetery.
