November 25, 1939 - April 19, 2022
William Howard Knight, of Tees, Alberta, passed away on April 19, 2022, at the Mazankowski Heart Institute in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 82.
"Bill" was born on November 25, 1939, in Lacombe, Alberta to Frank and Lilly Knight. Bill grew up on the family farm north of Tees. He attended school in Nebraska, Mirror, Lacombe and then graduated from Lindsay Thurber High School in Red Deer. From there, he pursued post secondary education in Oklahoma attending Petrochemical Engineering school, finally returning home to take up farming.
On October 21, 1967 - Bill married the love of his life, Gloria Russell. Bill and Gloria had 4 children: Brian, Craig, Blaine, and Christine.
Bill and Gloria farmed on the family homestead. They enjoyed many sectors of farming including purebred and commercial cattle, as well as seed grain. He served as Councillor for Lacombe County for 15 years, working for the betterment of the people.
Bill had many passions: Baseball, travelling around the world, flying his airplane, serving on many community boards and committees, spending time with his many friends and more. Most of all he loved his family!
Bill is survived by his loving wife Gloria; his 4 children: Brian (Trina) Knight, Craig (Lana) Knight, Blaine (Kristy) Knight, Christine (Gary) Buelow and 11 grandchildren: Landen, Jaedyn, Erica, Emily, Alexa, Kaya, Josh, Taven, Nathan, Brooke and Cooper.
