“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30

In the wake of the tragic loss of one of our beloved students, the STAR Catholic Board of Trustees has been truly touched to receive an outpouring of support from our parishes, families, government representatives, sister school divisions, municipal partners, and numerous members and organizations of our communities.

We wish to sincerely thank all of those who have reached out with offers of help, heartfelt advice, prayers, and many, many kind words. Though we’ve always known our small division is deeply connected to one another and to the communities we serve, it has been truly inspiring to see so many ready and willing to jump into action during our time of need.

In the days and months to come, our focus will be on supporting the staff, students, and families of the Christ the King School community, as well as any other members of the division who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy. The Board of Trustees has every confidence in the ability of our students, staff, and school communities to pull together in the face of loss and move forward as one whole.

We will take one step at a time as we embark on the path ahead, sharing the burden together and guided by the healing power of Christ. We will also take great comfort in the love we have for one another and the tremendous support from our many friends and partners. Although the healing journey will be long, one thing is certain: no one will be making it alone.
