OPINION: Only fools rush in

Yes the government is re-launching. Yes, some businesses are opening up. Yes, everyone is sick of this virus postponing our social lives. No, you cannot drop all social distance and health protocols.

Although it may seem with the Alberta Re-launch Strategy that everything is going back to normal.

It isn’t.

We must maintain social distancing protocols, be careful and still wash our hands excessively. The re-launch is only successful if we take it step by step. If we immediately drop all our precautions and go back to the way we were pre-virus we will have to isolate and enforce stringent restrictions again.

Phase two of the re-launch will only go forward if we can successfully make it through phase one.

Let’s not rush in like fools, and cause a setback in our province’s progress with COVID-19. If we are careful, think critically and are aware of our actions and transmissions, we can get through this, and maybe even get to enjoy a bit of 2020.
