The Ponoka Food Bank received a large number of donations from Ponoka groups, individuals and businesses this season. That generosity has helped the food bank in its effort to benefit those with less food. Dear Editor,

In a perfect world there would be no need for food banks: however, since this is not the case at the present time the Ponoka Food Bank would like to use this means to reiterate what a caring community we have.

Since the food bank’s inception in the 1990s local support has grown from “minimal” to this year’s “absolutely phenomenal!” Businesses, organizations, schools, churches, families, individuals, staff, volunteers - you name it, have all contributed so generously.

Our shelves are overflowing and our cash has been “topped up” thanks to the support of each donor (you know who you are). Please accept most sincere thanks from the board of the Ponoka Food Bank, our promise to use these gifts responsibly, and our good wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.

Sybil Evans, interim chairman
