A two-vehicle motor collision occurred at about 4:37 p.m. July 23, at the intersection of Hwy. 53 and 46 St.

Ponoka RCMP and Ponoka County Regional Fire Services responded to the scene.

The female passenger of the silver van was uninjured, but in order to safely remove her from the vehicle, a door had to be cut off to access the vehicle’s ramp, as she uses a wheelchair.

Ponoka Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) was called in order to transport the female home in a wheelchair van.

The female driver of the van and the driver of the pick-up truck were also uninjured.

Passerby Larrissa Allen, a Ponoka resident, says she’s concerned the intersection is dangerous because of its blind spots and the fact there is only one properly marked cross walk.
