The event was the chamber’s first in-person awards gala since 2019.

The event, held at the Ponoka Community Golf Course, started with cocktails and then dinner before the award winners were announced.

Speeches were given by Ponoka Mayor Kevin Ferguson, Lacombe-Ponoka MLA and Minister of Culture Ron Orr and Red Deer-Lacombe MP Blaine Calkins.

The master of ceremonies was Darcy Stingel.

The 2022 business award winners were:

Large Business of the Year

-Heartland Feeds.

Medium Business of the Year

- Siding 14 Brewing Company.

Small Business of the Year

- Makkinga Market.

Inger Laing Memorial Business Person of the Year

- Steve Wass, Under Pressure Sewer Line Jetting Inc.

Community/Service Group of the Year

- Central Alberta Youth Unlimited.

Customer Service Person of the Year

-Ryan Moore, Ponoka Community Golf Club.

New Business of the Year

- Ponoka Family Chiropractic.

Legacy Business of the Year

- Sommer Home Hardware Building Centre.
