More performances coming up

Ponoka Community Theatre presented their opening weekend of The Addams Family — A New Musical Comedy, Oct. 27 to 29 at Ponoka United Church.

Just in time for Halloween, there’s something for everyone in this look into the backwards and kooky Addams family. Not just about the dark and macabre, this musical is really a coming-of-age story about love and relationships.

As the now 18-year-old Wednesday falls in love with the most mundane guy possible, the Addams family faces their spookiest nightmare yet: the kids are growing up.

Wednesday (Kira Toth) invites her boyfriend Lucas (Ethan Lougheed) and his parents home for dinner, testing relationships, revealing secrets and facing the difficulty of accepting change.

The musical comedy is directed by Holly Sheppard and co-director Tiffany Toma, and produced by Marilyn Matsuoka.

If you missed opening weekend, have no fear. There are three more shows: Nov. 3, and 4, at 7 p.m. and Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
