After a nearly two-year hiatus, the new owners of Ponoka’s Capitol Theatre are opening the doors for the official grand reopening tonight, Jan. 20.

Home tournament held Jan. 14 to 16

For some, 2021 may have represented a year of continued struggles, and for others, it was a slow return to a semblance of normal. Throughout all the ups and downs, the Town of Ponoka, the community and its people continued to move forward with important initiatives and find creative ways to hold events to help bring us together this past year.

Ponoka Secondary Campus (PSC), the coordinating body for the annual Santa’s Anonymous program in Ponoka, held their first annual ‘Sleigh Run’ food and gift drive on Dec. 2, with the help of members of Ponoka County Fire Services. A total of $924 was raised that evening, along with many food and gift donations.Approximately 140 Christmas food and gift hampers were delivered on Dec. 15. This year is PSC’s 40th year of coordination Santa’s Anonymous.
