The Bantam Broncs football team has been hard at work during their annual spring season.

The spring season is a preempt to the regular season in the fall. The goal of the spring season is to develop football knowledge, skills, and routines/habits that will carry the team to success in the fall.

So far, players have been learning and growing at fast rates which makes for a promising fall regular season.

It’s not too late for interested kids to try football — any kids in Grades 6 to 8 can try a practice before deciding to commit to the team. Email todd.lewis@wolfcreek.ab.ca for more details.

The 2023 Bantam Broncs face their first opposition on May 27 when the Rocky Mountain House Jr. Rebels come into town. Kickoff is 2 p.m.

Part of the spring season is the annual Spring Camp Weekend (May 5 and 6) where the team slept over at Crestomere School and lived football for a few days.

During the weekend, players experienced numerous practices, film sessions, chalk talks, and team building activities.

Not only did the Broncs walk away improved football players, they, more importantly, walked away as a team.

With the whole weekend dedicated to football and team, Broncs had ample opportunity to build bonds with one another. The camaraderie formed during the Spring Camp Weekend set up the team for success in the future.
