It couldn't have been any better for Zeke Thurston as he won the NFR sixth go-round achieving his personal best of 88.5 at the saddle bronc event on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Las Vegas.
Riding Black Hills, Thurston was able to break through his good performance in the earlier rounds to achieve something even great – winning his first NFR go-round.
"That horse has been treating me really good," Thurston said after the win. Having had her twice before, Thurston was confident he would be able to ride her out.
It has taken the Big Valley cowboy 16 rounds to get his first NFR go-round win, but if his performance this year is anything to go by, there's quite a few more to come.
