Tryouts for the Ponoka Broncs football program are coming up with dates set for both the bantam and senior teams.
On May 9 and 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. coaches invite players in Grades 6 to 8 to try out for the bantam team and Grades 9 to 11 for the senior team.
The skill-based tryouts will include drills and assessing an athlete's ability to learn, explained bantam coach Todd Lewis.
Coaches will also look at, "Work ethic, passion to play and drive."
"And most importantly their drive to lift their brothers," said Lewis.
For preparation, Lewis recommends getting hydrated plus jogging and stretching each day. For tryouts bring water, shorts and running shoes, ideally cleats.
