The Central Alberta Buccaneers football club is preparing itself for a busy season.

On March 31 at 7 p.m. the team is hosting its fifth annual Buc Pub Night an event aimed at raising much of the needed funds for the Bucs 2017 season.

For a $20 ticket, people are allowed admittance into Bo’s Bar & Grill as well as the right to enter the team’s 50/50, raffle prizes, and silent auction. The Pub Night is a huge support to the team and, not to mention, always a good night out. Come rub elbows with the Bucs and help them get ready for 2017.

Bucs in the Community

The Bucs have also been busy in the community in early March, the team raised pledges for the Big Brothers’ “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” event.

Despite some questionable bowling, the team contributed an approximate $700 (BBBS was able to raise over $18,000 that evening).

In mid-March, the pirate squad helped out at EG Car Auctions; they pushed over 250 cars onto and off of the auction block (the Ponoka Bantam Broncs football team also helped out at that one). In April, the fellas will roll up their sleeves for their eleventh team blood donation.
