Seen around Ponoka’s Community Golf Club since 1989, this familiar face has been awarded with a big honour.

Ed Jones, a past financial manager and golf club member, was awarded with a life membership for his hard work and dedication to the club.

“Ed is very dedicated and loyal to Ponoka’s golf club,” said professional manager Rob MacPherson. “He’s just a great guy.”

Starting in 1989, Jones became involved with the Ponoka Community Golf Club and quickly progressed to volunteering from 1994 as treasurer of the club until he was offered a paid financial manager position in 2000 where he remained until 2008.

“I am very thankful to the Ponoka Community Golf Club for this honour that they have bestowed upon me,” Jones said. “I wish the club much success as they continue with their operations.”

“He dedicated six years of hard volunteer work to us,” MacPherson said.

“He’s always going over and beyond the call out of duty to get things done.”

Now retired, Jones still enjoys hanging around the club and golfing.
