The Ponoka Figure Skating Club travelled to Calgary last weekend to take part in the 28th annual Rose Bowl Synchronized Skating Competition. The event features some of the top synchronized skating groups in the province and even draws teams from Saskatoon and Regina.
Ponoka entered three teams in the competition, skating in the elementary, beginner 2, and pre-novice divisions.
The beginner 2 team, coached by Donna Horlock, picked up a silver medal after placing second in their division. The elementary and pre-novice teams, coached by Kathleen Moore, skated well and both walked away with bronze medals.
