We had a great year in 2016. Now it is time to reflect on what we accomplished in the past year.

We ran all our events that we do every year, such as our fundraising banquet, the annual provincial conference and our archery and firearms events. Our kids’ camp was full as usual and we will be taking applications for this year’s camp before long. So if you have kids that are interested in coming this summer, you should be giving it some thought.

We have a very busy schedule for 2017 as we are getting ready to elect the executives for the coming year. They will be elected at the February meeting.

The clubhouse kitchen is being renovated at the present time so we can have it ready for the summer. The club is already booked up just about every weekend for the summer.

Our banquet and fundraising event is next on our schedule, it will be coming up on Feb. 4 at the Stagecoach Saloon. It is also trophy night for the fish and big game winners for 2016. The trophies will be presented at the banquet.

For tickets, call Leonard at 504-588-2834 or Dave at 404-963-7572.

From the amount of trophies we will be presenting this year, looks like everyone had a good year hunting and fishing last season. We will have some of their wild game they harvested for us to sample at our supper. Cocktails will be at 5 p.m. and supper will be at 6:30 p.m. By the way, tickets are $25.00 each, and for a table of 8 it is $160.00.

Remember it is time to renew your membership. Memberships run from Jan. 1 thru Dec. 31. The cost is $100.00 for a regular membership and $120.00 for family memberships.

Hope to see you Feb. 4 at our banquet.

Yours for conservation,

Robert Greene
