Midget B Broncs beat up Innisfail

By CHARLES TWEED

Good old time hockey.

That might be the only way to describe the matchup between the Ponoka midget B Broncs and the Innisfail Flyers Feb. 11.

The game was dominated in the score column by the Broncs, 12-2. Austin Jacobson had a nine-point night, six goals and three assists, while Jagger Chalmers, Chris Graham and William Klassen all had two goals each.

The stat line didn’t end there.

Both teams filled the penalty section of the game sheets, as well, and the roughhousing caused officials to call the game with eight minutes still remaining in the third.

Innisfail was tagged for 16 minors, two 10-minute misconducts and one game misconduct. Ponoka wasn’t going to be outdone, totaling 18 minors, two 10-minute misconducts and one game misconduct.

In total, the penalties eclipsed the century mark, registering 108 minutes in the sin bin.
