The Ponoka Wolves midget hockey team lost their playoff final 2-1 against the Lacombe Blues March 19 to 27.
In the regular season Lacombe went 30-0 and Ponoka was 18-9-3. Before the series Ponoka was looking forward to playing Lacombe to give them a good run.
In game one in Lacombe, the Blues came out on top 9-6. Ponoka was leading 6-5, going into the third period when the Blues responded with four goals. Captain Braden Casper led the way with a hat trick, Cedric Mackinaw, Kenton Levesque and Kyle Mackinaw also had goals.
Ponoka tied the series in game two in Ponoka on March 20 winning 4-3. Micheal Crane, Ryan Moore, Kyle Mackinaw and Casper scored for Ponoka.
In the deciding game three Ponoka had a devastating loss 13-2, Kenton Levesque had both goals for Ponoka.
