Deputy Reeve Bryce Liddle presented the Bantam Broncs football team with a sponsorship cheque on Aug. 16, for $2,000 from Ponoka County towards the upcoming season.
Head coach Todd Lewis attended the meeting with a delegation of football players. The organization is a non-profit group, not under the umbrella of Wolf Creek School Division, with the majority of funding coming from the community.
Members of the team addressed council to share their experiences with the team. They said they learned respect, work ethic, dedication, community and what it means to be a team player.
