PHOTOS: Ponoka Curling Club hosts Alberta Junior Curling Tour Event

The Ponoka Curling Club hosted its first-ever Alberta Junior Curling Tour Event Jan. 17 to 19, being home to 24 teams for three days.

There were eight U15 teams and 16 U18 teams, most of which where from out of town, coming from as far as Calgary and Edmonton.

The bonspiel payouts totalled $3,720.

Two local teams made it to the semi-finals on Sunday: a U18 boys high school team, Team Lysons, and a u18 girls team, Team DeSchiffart.

The Town of Ponoka sponsored lunch for the curlers and Boston Pizza was another sponsor of the event.
