The Alberta Friesian Horse Association held their 25th anniversary Friesian horse show “From War Horse to Movie Star,” at the Calnash Ag Event Centre on Oct. 19.

There was a packed house for the three-hour show that featured a variety of performances and disciplines, from quadrille to mounted archery and dressage.

Friesians are a horse breed from The Netherlands. Famous for their majestic beauty, their versatility has also meant they’ve been used throughout history for many things, including in combat and on the big screen.
