Local bull riders take first and second at PBR Lockdown Bull Bash

Jordan Hansen (formerly of Ponoka) won it all at the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Lockdown Bull Bash, held at the Calnash Ag Event Centre on Sept. 26.

At the Lockdown Bull Bash, Hansen was the lone rider to go a perfect 2-for-2, gaining him 25 national points and jumping him from unranked to No. 15 in the PBR Canada national standings.

The Lockdown Bull Bash, part of the league’s Touring Pro Division, hosted by Vold Rodeo, was Hansen’s fifth PBR event of the 2020 season.

Hansen put up 81 points in round one, before netting the high-marked right of the event in the championship round at 87 points.

He won $2,518.12 and 25 national points for the victory.

Tied for second place were Ponoka bull rider, two-time PBR Canada Champion Zane Lambert and Jake Gardner with matching 85-point, Round 1-winning rides.
