Ponoka Elementary School (PES) is proud to take part in this year’s 40th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. As with most things, this year our Terry Fox run will look a little different from what we are used to.

As always, we will make this a memorable event, while at the same time doing all we can to help keep ourselves and each other safe and healthy.

On Sept. 25, classes will take turns walking a predetermined route. For safety reasons the public will not be permitted on the school grounds.

At PES, we always set our fundraising goal high for this event because it is near and dear to our hearts. With students being unable to go door to door this year, we encourage you to support them online, if you so choose. Visit www.terryfox.ca/PonokaElementary. This page will stay active until Sept. 30.

Two staff members have committed to cutting an inch off their hair for every $1,000 raised. This will happen Oct. 1 and will be broadcasted live through the Ponoka Elementary Facebook page. Our hope is they will end up with a pixie cut.
