We have had a great year with quite a few new members joining the club along with renewals for the year.

Our membership is around the 700 mark for the year with three months to go.

Our regular events have been well attended. We had a very good kids’ camp this summer. The kids learned several skills, about nature and conservation.

Hunting season is here again and I hope everyone got some draws. Be sure to check your hunting licence and make sure everything is up to date before you go out hunting. It is no fun to shoot something then find out you are missing something. There seems to be a lot of game as we have had a good spring and summer for the newborns to get a good start.

At least there have been a lot of deer eating my garden.

We have quite a few improvements to the clubhouse in recent years. If you have not been out there for a time - you should drop by and see it.

On Sept. 30th we had a trap shooting competition for turkeys and hams. It was structured so everyone had a chance to win a prize whether you were a good shooter or an experienced shooter. If you missed this shoot you missed a great fun event. The weather was not the greatest, but what the heck, it was September in Alberta. We are planning on making this an annual event.

After the shoot we had a barbecue pig supper that was the best I have had in a long long time. Don’t miss the next one. Looks like I am going to have to dig my potatoes with a snow shovel so I better go dig it out of the garage.

See you soon,

Yours in Conservation,

Robert Greene
