Ponoka Minor Ball is hoping to see an increase in player numbers and for the warmer weather to return so the season can get underway in earnest.

The boys and girls of summer are invited to get ready for the season.

Ponoka Minor Ball is holding its annual registration and annual general meeting on March 7 at 7 p.m. at the Kinsmen Community Centre with hopes of continuing to grow both baseball and softball numbers.

Tina Nielsen, association president, said the night is a good way to network with other parents and ask any questions.

“Our AGM is short, but informative and is a good way to meet the board members,” she said.

“We have programs for boys and girls starting as young as five-years-old.”

She added teams play and practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with indoor practices being offered for those interested later this month. The softball home tournament has already been set for May 27 and 28.

Nielsen added the group is always on the lookout for coaches, parent helpers and umpires for both softball and baseball with the associations assisting with the clinic fees for anyone that wants to become an umpire.

For more information about teams, fees and other questions, people are encouraged to visit www.ponokaminorball.com or head to the organizations Facebook page.
