There are folks from Ponoka who will be running the 2019 Canada Winter Games torch.
A press release from Canada Winter Games on Tuesday released the names of all the torchbearers for the torch relay, which starts Oct. 9 and ends Feb. 7. Ponoka’s contingent of eeight will be the last group to run the torch relay.
Those who made the list are Mayor Rick Bonnett, Jayden Crane, Calvin David, Chad Harden, Nolan Lee, Maddison and Shawna Pearman as well as Tegan Poitras.
Along with the Ponoka contingent will be Chevi Rabbit, Maskwacis and Edmonton resident who will be running on Jan. 8.
Over 100 inspiring Canadians were named today as torchbearers in the national MNP Canada Games Torch Relay.
