The Annual Santa Showdown hockey game, where students face off against faculty, will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the Ponoka Arena Complex.
After a two-year hiatus as a result of COVID-19, Ponoka Secondary Campus says the school is anxious to rekindle the event.
“Every cent raised goes towards the Santa’s Anonymous program for Ponoka and area residents,” stated a press release.
“Ponoka Secondary Campus appreciates community donations for this worthwhile event.”
The Santa Showdown Hockey game, Grade 12 students versus staff, has raised over
$37,000 in the past 26 years.
“In this, our 27th Anniversary, we are hoping to surpass 2012’s single night record amount of $4090. This will be a difficult task considering ticket prices are only $2.
“With local support, we are confident that we can provide food and gift hampers for all those less fortunate in our community.”
