There’s a few spots left for bowling teams to enter the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Ponoka’s Bowl for Kids Sake, set for March 6, and some great prizes to be had.

“We’re really looking forward to it,” said program director Morgen Chernick.

The annual fundraising event will be held at Leisure Lanes Bowling Centre and is Harry Pottery-themed this year.

There will be prizes for most pledges collected, for both individuals and teams, as well as for best costumes.

The first place prizes for the team that collects the most pledges are 18 holes of golf and power carts at the Ponoka Golf Club, tickets to the Ponoka Stampede, and lift tickets and rentals at the Rabbit Hill Snow Resort.

The first place prize for the individual that collects the most pledges is a $250 VIA Rail Canada travel voucher, a $100 gift card to Gord’s No Frills and a $50 gift card to Cilantro and Chive in Lacombe.

The youth prize is a brand new set of quality headphones and laser tag for four people at Laser Quest.

Various other second place prizes, for both individuals and teams, include a prime rib dinner at the Canadian Brewhouse, a Keurig coffee maker and pods and various passes for places like the Discovery Wildlife Park, Calaway Park and the Telus World of Science.

There will also be plenty of door prizes given out throughout the evening, thanks to donations from local businesses.
