On May 4, the Alberta Schools Athletics Association (ASAA) held a “Light Up the Field” online event to recognize all of the student athletes who participated in school sport this school year.

Ponoka Secondary Campus (PSC) coaches met in the gymnasium, while keeping a distance of six feet apart, to take a photo to celebrate its players.

“Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, many of our athletes did not get to complete their seasons and Ponoka Secondary Campus (PSC) is one of many school wanting to recognize their athletes’ participation and contribution to our programs,” said PSC athletic director Paula Chapman in an email.

“We would like to give a special recognition for all of our graduating athletes as their Broncs careers come to a close.”

The annual Broncs Athletic Banquet is cancelled, however, the school will be presenting the Graduating Senior Athlete of the Year and Bronc of the Year awards to Grade 12 athletes at its awards night in the fall.
