Sports sign up just around the corner

School has marked an end to the summer holidays and with that comes homework, new friends and school activities. Outside of school there are many other sports and activities available within the community to teach new strategies and help sharpen skills.

School has marked an end to the summer holidays and with that comes homework, new friends and school activities. Outside of school there are many other sports and activities available within the community to teach new strategies and help sharpen skills.

Hockey season is a prominent time in Ponoka with many players signing up for the Ponoka Jr. B Stampeders team summer try-outs, Ponoka Minor Hockey and Ponoka Recreational Hockey. Also on the ice this fall will be the members of the skating club.

Indoor soccer is set to begin as well as karate, gymnastics, and much more.

Also, the 19th Annual Battle River High School Rodeo will soon be coming to the Ponoka Stampede Grounds.

Ponoka’s many opportunities for activities and sports is a good aspect of the community. Remember to sign up for a successful season of positive fun and friendly competition.
