Stampeders lose to Airdrie on the road

Ponoka’s Junior B hockey team continued to struggle in their search for the first ever win of the season and lost 5-3 to Airdrie

Ponoka’s Junior B hockey team continued to struggle in their search for the first ever win of the season and lost 5-3 to Airdrie in an away game on Friday, Nov. 15

The defensive weaknesses and the goaltending troubles continued to haunt the Ponoka side as they lost their 3-1 lead, which they captured in the first period.

With the Airdrie intensifying their attacks, the hosts took more shots at the visiting Stampeders’ net than the visitors could manage.

Scorers for the Stampeders were Cole Visser, Tye Munro and Jarrit Alexander.

Ponoka boys now play two back-to-back home games, first on Wednesday Nov. 20 against Stettler and against Banff on Saturday Nov. 23.
