The Mountain Regional Synchronized Skating Championships were held Jan. 28 to 30, in Penticton, B.C. with two local teams taking part in the event.

The competition provides development and experience for synchro teams and offers the opportunity for teams to quality for the Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships.

The elementary team placed second in their division, narrowly missing an opportunity to compete at nationals.

The second team to compete from Ponoka was in the pre-novice division. The Ice Sensations finished third in a group of teams from across Western Canada.

The club will travel to Red Deer for the Rebel Games at the end of February and are looking forward to hosting their carnival on March 13.
