Town of Ponoka residents can now enjoy drop-in volleyball at arena

Evening hours have been extended on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

Drop-in volleyball started at the Ponoka Arena Complex on June 15, as the newest addition to the Town of Ponoka’s drop-in sports programming.

Other drop-in sports available include pickleball, lacrosse, badminton, basketball and floor hockey.

The hours for drop-in programming has also been extended for a few nights each week. The arena will now be open until 9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

To view a drop-in programming schedule, visit www.ponoka.ca/p/ponoka-arena-complex.

Equipment is available for use; however, individuals are encouraged to use their own equipment. Children under the age of eight require direct supervision from a person 16 years of age or older.

To access the drop-in programming, citizens can purchase a single-use pass or a 20-visit punch pass for the arena, or a Recreation Pass.

A Recreation Pass gives users access to all drop-in programming at the arena and the Ponoka Aquaplex (including swimming, water fitness classes and racquetball/squash). More information can be found on the town’s website.
