Youth bowlers take gold in tournaments

Young bowlers competed in various games in the last month and many won their tournaments.

On March 15 Eric Anderson, master, Cody Lloyd, Campbell Kerr and Jordan Vogel bowled at Heritage Lanes in Red Deer. The team competed against others from all over Alberta and took home first place in the men’s division. The team won with 318 pins over average for four games.

Anderson, Lloyd, Kerr and Vogel all received gold medals and a cash award of $110 each.

Ponoka had four teams, two girl and two boy teams, at the tournament.

Hi. Attached are photos of some of our youth bowlers that have won tournaments in the last month.

More recently, Brooklyn Budd put Ponoka on the map by winning a pins over average fax-in tournament. Budd captured the gold in the pee wee (age six to nine years) division. The tournament was for all of the south portion of Alberta. Budd was 101 pins over average in three games that were bowled in her home house, Leisure Lanes, and then faxed into Bowl Alberta. This tournament is optimum for younger bowlers to compete against others without leaving their local bowling alley.

Congratulations to all who competed in these tournaments.
