Canada Day fireworks, sponsored by the Ponoka Stampede Association and the Town of Ponoka, sparked off from the Stampede Grounds at 11:58 p.m. on Canada Day.

Hold onto your belt buckles, some high-flying entertainment – not just the wildly talented cowboys and cowgirls competing this year — will be hitting the dirt of the infield at the Ponoka Stampede.

The 87th Ponoka Stampede is June 26 to July 2.

The four nights of concerts on the mainstage at the Ponoka Stampede 2023 are sure to have boots tapping and crowds singing along.

The Ponoka Piston Poppers car club held their annual parade to various seniors’ lodges and the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury on June 9.

The Ponoka Pride Society and the Ponoka Jubilee Library hosted Pride in The Park at Ponoka’s Centennial Park on June 10 from 12 to 4 p.m. People of all ages attended the event. The event showcased an array of activities including games, kindness awards, open mic on the main stage, a rainbow balloon arch, free hotdog barbecue, tea party, popcorn and cotton candy, glitter tattoos, chalk art, cupcakes, and so much more. A great time was had by all.

St. Augustine Theatre held the opening night of their family-friendly production Hello, Shakespeare! on June 2.
