I have a few different hobbies with which I occupy my scant downtime.

Earth Day is April 22

During the little bit of downtime I manage to carve out for myself, there are a few television shows that I enjoy watching with my wife.

Spring has kind of officially sprung. There’s still snow on the ground, but seeing those lighter days and higher temperatures creates a sense of excitement. At least for me it does. I’ve already started a bunch of my seeds indoors for the garden. Tomatoes and peppers are growing strong. Any other gardeners out there who are excited for summer? I can’t wait to be in the garden. It’s something my husband and I enjoy doing in those summer months.

As I sat down to write this column, the original headline I was working on felt eerily similar. On “loss and grief” were the words that first popped into my head, with an instant pang that I had heard them or read them before.
